On a beautiful evening in September Crown Weddings had the pleasure of planning an intimate wedding for 22 for Jean and Hsing’s wedding on South Ponto Beach, Carlsbad. It was so fun to work with them to plan this special day and I had a great time designing this stunning wedding for them.  Jean wanted it to be as pretty and romantic as possible. As with all beach weddings you cannot use any glass at all so we found acrylic china and glassware and chargers and it looked as beautiful as real china and glassware, of course this was all helped by stunning florals from http://www.mysplendidsentiments.com incredible lace linens from http://www.luxelinens.org as well as the rustic arbor, chairs, and chargers from http://www.conceptseventdesign.com and market lighting and tables and flatware from @crownrentals.com

Wedding highlights: Traditional gifts of gold were offered by their parents in the morning and after Jean and Hsing’s  wedding ceremony they decided to go straight into their first dance and had prepared a beautifully choreographed dance to “Thinking out loud “by Ed Sheeran. They moved onto the beach for sunset cocktails followed by an incredible and 5 course gourmet wine paired meal served by Barry Layne and his team at http://www.coastcatering.com

Thanks to Heather from http://www.vallentynephotography.com for all the images.

This month we feature an intimate wedding we should have blogged a little while back. It was a second marriage for Eileen and Patrick and Eileen’s request had been for a colorful “Boho Couture”  style wedding ( I love that description), and a fun family celebration to include their three beautiful children. (and the dog !)

To make that happen we enlisted the help of the talented Jennifer Cole to design a beautiful wedding altar complete with floral covered chandeliers, an incredible fuchsia orchid canopy and rows of silver lanterns and colorful florals down the aisle. Inside a stunning feast table was created using more fuchsia orchids dripping from an overhead table arbor, along with bleached manzanita branches, amaranthus, roses and hydrangea cascading down along with a plethora of candle light. Each place setting was adorned with green and crystal stemware, a watercolor menu and place card and a pretty cymbidium orchid. Did I mention we LOVE color !!

Eileen walked down the aisle with her 8 year old son to “1000 years” sung by Lyndsay Swiderska and during dinner Johnny from  Still Listening productions played his guitar and DJ’d their favorite songs.  As always Rancho Valencia catered a five star menu and the night ended with a delicious cake by their favorite San Diego dessert place Extraordinary desserts.

Thanks to Vallentyne Photography for these beautiful images and to Jennifer Cole for another amazing job.  ps:  Shout out to my team Brooke Lazarski and Jennifer Kovner who ran this event for me- you gals are the best XX

I had such a wonderful time planning Tylor and Nicole’s wedding they truly were a dream couple to work with. They trusted me completely to recommend vendors to suit their style and personalities and we came up with the Dream Team. We don’t usually blog our thank you  letters but this time I’m making an exception because they both mention the amazing vendors .

We at Crown Weddings know that it takes a village of like minded, wedding- loving, kind hearted vendors along with our Crown team and our amazing clients to create an incredible wedding celebration.

Here’s what Nicole and Tylor had to say …

Susanne ,

Thank you so much for putting together the wedding of our dreams. It was truly the best celebration we could have asked for. Everybody you introduced us to were absolutely amazing, they were all so inviting and great to work with. We are still getting texts and messages from everyone to let us know that our wedding was by far the best they have ever been to.

The best decision we made for this wedding was to put our faith in your hands. Thank you for all you did for us . Much Love  Tylor and Nicole.

Tyler and Nicole are an amazing couple. They love life, they love each other and they come from really loving families. This was all evident in their wedding video by the talented Scott and Jenny of www.quixoticpictures.com. Take the time to view this its so worth it……..

From the Father of the Groom:

Please accept our sincere gratitude for your help during our sons wedding weekend. We were so fortunate to have found YOU.! You made such a special and emotional event stress free and more importantly PERFECT for all involved. Not only did we, but our guests young and old enjoyed this fairy tale wedding you created. I have never seen my dad dance so much nor has he. You were so organized and thought of every detail, along with holding our hands from beginning to end, which isn’t an easy task. Your vendor recommendations far exceeded our expectations, from the amazing live band, to the gorgeous flowers. All the vendors were kind and personable. We feel like we added an extension to our family. Thank you again .You were amazing.

Andre and Kimberly Vicario.

Crown Weddings was thrilled to be asked to co-ordinate the 10th Anniversary Party for the fabulous CEREMONY Magazine recently. Along side the party which we will feature images from at a later date I was asked to collaborate with some wonderful vendors to help create our romantic and oh so chic Marie Antoinette inspired ceremony and table top and here are just a few preview images.

Romantic Ceremony with Jennifer Cole Florals/ Chameleon chairs

& Enticing Tables (Gates)

Marie Antoinette Inspired Tabletop with beautiful Wildflower linen, chair covers

and J Grace menus.

Close up of our table setting with Cheris Vintage Table china/glassware etc

Jennifer Cole Florals always exceeds my expectations when I work with her on these creative jaunts the flowers were just divine and incorporating the pantone colors of the year of pale pink and blue accented by gold to evoke the Marie Antoinette Suite at Versailles.  The perfect accompaniment to our table was the stunning vintage china / flatware and glassware  from www.cherisvintagetable.com as well as the amazing linens and chair covers from www.wildflowerlinens.com and beautiful menus  from www.jgrace.com. I would also like to thank www.classicpartyrentals.com for their chameleon and chiavari chairs & hammered chargers  and www.enticingtables.com for their gorgeous custom iron gates wow what an entrance into our dreamy set up.  Macarons provided by the ladies at www.heytherecupcake.com

This was a collaboration with some of my favorite ladies in the industry thank you all.  Also cheers to Tomas from  www.thebigaffair.com for these preview images 🙂

Christopher and Scott had been together for over 20 years, had 2 beautiful children and resided in New York. They both have high powered jobs, travel a lot and so they flew in for one day and planned a Friday Bay Cruise, a Saturday Clambake (we will blog that later) and a beautiful intimate wedding with a custom five course menu  matched with incredible wines from Camus and Conundrum vineyards. Chris and Scott simply wanted the best of everything for their guests as they were all flying in from all over the world to be with them.

They wanted a very sleek masculine clean feel to their wedding so we began by picking navy linens with a subtle patten for cocktails and grey fabric that reminded us of suit material for the table linens both from Luxe Linen. We used the Navy, grey and bronze to design their invitation with Wendy Ware designer who hand drew a custom monogram that appeared throughout the wedding from Koozies to cocktail napkins , to place cards, to napkin wraps. Bronze Anthropologie lanterns, vases wrapped in faux snake skin and amber glassware added texture and color to the low full floral centerpieces from Jennifer Cole Florals.

Scott wanted a white cake , Chris wanted a darker cake so we did both ! ! made by the talented Hey there Cupcake team. Thank you to Gene Higa for these beautiful images and many congratulations Gentlemen !
