I received a call from the Mother of the Bride approximately 10 weeks before Laura and Patricks big day and she needed help with everything including the wedding site. Amazingly the Hotel Del Coronado had the weekend they wanted open and Catering Manager Kim Harper helped us arrange all the hotel details in just a few short weeks.
The Bride, Laura looked stunning in her Monique L’huiler gown from M Bride that had just arrived in the store the day of her appointment. The colors of creams, peaches and pops of orange were chosen with Karen Tran Florals and the request of lots and lots of flowers was not a hard one for her to fulfil. Karens “ signature ” Canopy complete with crystal chandelier was covered on three sides with an abundance of peonies, orhids and roses, the aisle had a thick carpet of roses and 100′s of phaleanopsis orchids and crystals dripping all the way from beginning to end it was breathtaking. !!
For the cocktails we incorporated the brides favorite color of navy blue alongside the bold orange tones. Placecards by Wendy Ware Designs were placed in silk covered boxes filled with crystals and the table was covered in vases filled with mokara orchids, roses and cala lilies. Live event artist painted the ceremony and music was provided by Caprice Strings. Inside the ballroom huge arrangements were placed in the center of each table covered in taupe Damask linens from Classic Party Rentals.
The Signature of the day was a beautiful crystal chandelier designed by Wendy Ware and was featured on everything from the programs to the menus to the gorgeous round dance floor from Platinum Pro. Nrg Band kept the crowd on their feet all evening and the fun element was the unique Photobooth that we created with Lauras fathers prize possession his Mountain Goat Billy. Usually found in their penthouse in San Diego Billy was brought over to the hotel that day and placed on a fur carpet with a white backdrop. Flip books had fun capturing the evening with the guests and Billy in various hats/glasses and props…. a quote from the mother of the bride …. ” It was the hit of the evening everyone is still laughing a week later”..(you will have to wait for a later post of the Photobooth and our beautiful bride)
One of the best compliments I got was from the father of the groom who said … I have been in films for over 25 years and usually when we film something like this it takes 1000′s of takes but you did it perfectly in one !…. I googled him later and found out he was head of 20th century Fox films.. WOW !
Thanks to all the amazing vendors who worked on this event and to my girls Keli,Popeh,Alison and Melissa who were awesome.!
